PREFACE
NN
The WJ-FS216 Video Multiplexer is designed to pick up
the field signals from video cameras
and record the
camera images on a time lapse VCR.
The pictures of
up to 16 cameras can be monitored in single, quad or
multi picture mode.
Camera/pictures
can
be called
from the time lapse VCR output by a title added to the
camera picture or by simply pressing the selection but-
ton for the respective camera.
FEATURES
The WJ-FS216 Video Multiplexer is designed to pick up
the field signals from video cameras
and record the
camera images on a time lapse VCH.
Up to 16 cameras
(black & white or color cameras) can be connected to
the WJ-FS216 regardless of whether the camera signals
are synchronized or not.
The functions of the two available modes, MULTIPLEX
and MULTISCR, are as follows:
e MULTIPLEX mode
1. Monitoring sequential or single (spot) pictures and
simultaneously
recording them on the time lapse
VCR.
2. Easy selection of playback picture from the time
lapse VCR
and displaying it as a single (spot) or
multt picture (quad, 3x3, or 4x4) by simply pushing
the camera selection button.
The Quad Shift function allows you to shift between
up to four quad pictures (each consisting of 4 pic-
tures).
3. Pauses can be inserted in the pictures reproduced
by the time lapse VCR (STILL ON mode).
In multi
picture mode, pauses can also be inserted in any
monitored pictures, and single spot pictures can be
zoomed up to twofold.
* MULTISCR mode
1. You can monitor sequential, single (spot) or multi
pictures (quad, 3x3, or 4x4) and record them simul-
taneously on the time lapse VCR.
2. You
can
switch
between
display
patterns
(spot,
quad, 3x3, or 4x4) by simply pressing any of the
camera selection buttons 1 to 3.
3. The Quad Shift function allows you to display up to
four quad pictures (each consisting of 4 pictures)
on one screen.
4. You can pause (STILL ON mode) or zoom the piay-
back
picture.
In multi picture mode,
all pictures
monitored can be paused, but only one specified
picture can be zoomed.

1. Remote control
2. An alarm beeps to indicate that a cable is discon-
nected.
3. Memory backup (approx. 72 hours) for menus.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
The playback picture of the Time Lapse VCR with
linear mode may be disturbed by another channel
picture. In this case
playback again for the dis-
turbed picture scene of playback VCR without linear
mode.
The WJ-FS10 cannot play back tapes recorded on
the WJ-FS216.
These Operating Instructions explain the operating
procedure when
using the AG-6730
Time Lapse
VCR or equivalent.
This unit does not accept the camera motion detec-
tor alarm signal.
Do not attempt to disassemble the unit. In order to
prevent electrical shock, do not remove screws or
Covers. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
Do not abuse the unit. Avoid striking, shaking etc. It
could be damaged
by improper handling or stor-
age.
Do not use strong or abrasive
detergents when
cleaning the unit body.
Do not expose the unit to water or moisture, and do
not operate it in wet or humid areas.
Do
not use
the unit in an extreme
environment
where
either high temperature
or high humidity
exist.
Handle the unit with care.
Take immediate action if ever the unit does become
wet. Tune the power off and refer servicing to quali-
fied service personnel. Moisture can damage the
unit and also create a danger of electric shock.
Use the unit under conditions where temperature is
within —10°C to +50°C (14°F to 122°F), and humidity
is below 9096. When installing the unit in the rack, it
is recommended to install the fan.
e The input power source is 120 V AC, 60 Hz.
Refer all installation work to qualified service per-
sonnel or system installers.
