8.4 Connecting the camera to a media player

Prerequisite: The camera is installed and ready for operation.
1. Set the streaming settings for Stream 1 and Stream 2 in the IDS NXT cockpit in the "Application" tab under
"Settings" > "Streaming" , see
2. Enable streaming via RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) in the IDS NXT cockpit, see
streaming.
3. You can view the RTSP URL of the camera in IDS NXT cockpit under "Settings" > "Streaming" for stream 1
or for stream 2 under "URL" respectively and with a click on
4. Enter the RTSP URL of the camera in your media player.
a. For example in the VLC media player: In the VLC media player, open the "Open Network Stream" option
in the "Media" menu. Enter the RTSP URL of the camera in the VLC media player under "Network".
