EMISSION CHECK

This is the most important phase of
the calibration process. After com-
pleting the operations described
above, check the emissions of CO
and NOx in the heated rooms. These
checks must be performed with at
least 3 burner output levels (mini-
mum, average, maximum) and in a
total air replacement situation.
For a good calibration, this check
must provide values of CO < 10
PPM and NOx = 0 PPM.
If the measured values are worse,
reduce the combustion air by adjust-
ing the ring nut (A)p. 14.
As a purely indicative reference, the
damper opening will be around notch
2.5.
If there are people in the heated
rooms, evaluate whether the CO
levels measured are acceptable in
relation to the time spent in the
room. Adopt all the appropriate
measures to minimise any risk to
people's health.
In any case, these burners are not
suitable for the use in rooms with
operators.
Be sure to check the CO emissions
periodically.
Variations in the fuel composition
and primary air output can cause
changes in the air-fuel ratio, with var-
iations in the composition of com-
bustion products.
Check the CO levels at least with
every change of season.
The installer will have to assure the
safety devices in order to prevent:
-
burner starts without air in the
booth;
-
wrong burner adjustments with
high CO levels.
