Close the Top Cover again and place the Type-
writer on its back.
Remove the Bottom Cover Lid by sliding it to the
right side.

Set the POWER Switch to the " O F F " position.
Remove the AC Power Cord from the Power
Input Jack.

Hold both sides of the Top Cover and open it.

Using your hand, gently move the Carriage to the
right side.

Grasp the Lever of the Cupwheel
Printing
Element between your fingers to release the lock.
Then pull it directly out as shown in the figure.
