Connecting the Stereo
Use the illustrations below to connect your
HCD-VA550 to a pair of SA-VA15*
amplified speakers (optional).
To connect optional audio equipment, such
as an MD recorder, or to make connections
to other powered speakers, see "Connecting
Optional Equipment" in Chapter 5.
* The SA-VA15 is a Sony Home Theater
Speaker System that lets you enjoy
movies, music, sports, TV programs,
etcetera, with surround sound.

Connections to
the Speakers
Use the supplied audio cord to connect the
FIXED LINE OUT jacks on the back of the
HCD-VA550 to the 2 IN jacks on the back of
the left SA-VA15 speaker.
Be sure to match L (white) to L (white) and
R (red ) to R (red).

Use the supplied system control cord to
connect the CONTROL S OUT jack on the
back of the HCD-VA550 to the CONTROL
S IN jack on the back of the left SA-VA15
speaker.

Use the connecting cord and speaker cord
supplied with the SA-VA15 speaker system.
Refer to the operating instructions supplied
with the SA-VA15 for details.

Ground the external antenna against
lightning. To prevent a gas explosion, do
not connect the ground wire to a gas pipe.
