TURNING
AN
INSIDE CORNER
1. Clip

into
corner.
2.
Align
the
fabric
edge
with
the right
edge
of
the
needle plate and
stitch
unt¡l the
knife
blade
-
not
the
needle
-
is
in the
corner.
3.
Lower
the
needle
into
the fabric
and
raise
the
presser
foot.
Maneuver
the fabric
until
the cut
edge
is
straight
and
a
pleat
forms in the fabric
to
the
left
of the
presser
foot.

4.
Lower
the
presser
foot
and
continue stitching
the
straightened
edge.
The
pleat
will
disappear
after stitching.

SERGING CURVES
To
serge
around
inside
or
outside curves, handle
fabric
as
you
would
in
conventional
sewing,
but
guide
the fabric into the knife, not the
needle. Remember,
cutt¡ng
takes place before stitching.
Also,
since
the
longer
serger
presser
foot
holds
the fabric
more
securely,
you
may
need
to
raise and
lower the
foot
several
times
to work
around
a
very
t¡ght
curve.
