The Braided Traction Cord @) is securely attached to
the Accessory Connector ©
with a special "bowline"
knot. This knot should never be untied or cut off. To
prevent wear and fraying, the machine should be
mounted facing toward the desired direction of pull so
that the Braided Traction Cord (2) does not contact the
side of the slot from which it extends. Do not use the
machine
if signs of wear or fraying are observed
on
the Braided Traction Cord @) — consult the factory for
replacement.
Read
and follow warning on page 1.
The Accessory
Connector
©
is opened
by using the
thumb and index finger to "pinch" the two "tabs"
towards each other inside the loop at the end of the
knot. This action opens the Accessory Connector @)
to
accept the metal bar or metal ring of the desired
accessory
such as Catalog
Number
SC-31S Spreader
Bar or Catalog
Number
PT-110 Line-Tite Clamp
with
traction cord extension. Close the Accessory Connector
so that both halves engage the desired accessory.
The Max Traction
Knob
©
is conveniently accessible
from either side of the machine. The knob is used to
determine the maximum
traction force to be applied
during the Hold phase and should be turned so that the
white indicator line corresponds
to the prescribed
traction force between 10 and 100 pounds (4.5 and 45
kilograms) on the Max Traction dial.
The Max Traction dial settings in pounds are marked in
cream
colored numerals
next to the graduations on the
outside edge of the curved scale. Settings in kilograms
are marked
in orange colored numerals
next to the
graduations on the inside edge of the curved scale. The
high traction range above 40 pounds (18 kilograms) on
the curved
scale is colored yellow as a caution
reminder to the operator — see the description
of High
Traction
Display
for details.
