HOW TO START AND STOP OR INTERRUPT A TREATMENT
Traction treatments
may be given only by or on order of a licensed practitioner. TRU-TRAC
Therapy
Products Inc. does not recommend
the use of any specific traction force or timer settings. Any
settings mentioned
in the product instructions are for illustrative purposes only. Reprints of pertinent
clinical studies and medical
papers are available upon request without charge in either compendium
or unabridged
form.
A.
It is usually easier to align the harness on the patient while they are standing and then tighten the
harness after positioning them relative to your TRU-TRAC™.
Follow the fitting instructions supplied
with the patient harness.
B.
Position the patient on the TRU-TRAC
brand table or chair in accordance with the instructions
supplied with those products.
Note that the TRU-TRAC™
should
be mounted
facing the intended
direction of pull so that the Braided Traction Cord @
does not contact the side of the slot from
which
it extends.
C.
Tighten any slack in the harness so that it fits the patient securely.
D.
With the Max Traction Knob
©
set to Cord Release
Position ©,
slowly * pull the end of the
Braided Traction Cord out and attach the Accessory Connector
.
The machine will
automatically take up any slack in the Braided Traction Cord ©

may cause internal tangling on the take-up spool.)
E.
Turn the Max Traction Knob ©
to the prescribed setting. Turn the Min Reset Knob (6) to the
desired setting usually at least 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms) below the Max Traction Knob ©
setting.
F.
Move the Power On/Off Switch
@
to the "ON"
position.
G. Turn the Hold Timer Knob
to either the static traction mode, or the number of seconds of
desired hold at the maximum
traction force. If you are not using the static traction mode, turn the
Rest Timer Knob

to the number of seconds of desired rest at the force indicated by the Min
Reset Knob (©.
H.
Give the Patient Interrupt Switch (3)
to the patient. If the patient is not already familiar with this
switch's operation, an explanation and demonstration
are recommended.
|. Start the treatment by turning the Treatment Timer Knob (7)
to the desired treatment length in
minutes. Stop or interrupt the treatment by turning the Treatment Timer Knob (m
to zero and
waiting
until all tension has released automatically before using Cord Release
