4643 PRINTER OPERATOR'S
PREPARATION
This section contains information to assist in the
operation of the printer . A pictorial guide is included to
describe paper loading controls , paper alignment aids,
controls and indicators , ribbon replacement, and print
head replacement . Information is also supplied con
cerning unpacking , space requirements , mounting pro
cedures, and interface connection types .
Before unpacking , setting up , and starting to operate
the 4643, it is recommended that you read this
operator's manual for the 4643 Printer carefully , parti
cularly the instructions for unpacking and installation ,
ribbon installation , paper loading , and the power- up
and self test procedures . Read and do each of the
steps listed to check the operation of your printer as a
stand- alone device . Then connect the printer to your
system and test its operation as a part of the complete
system .
INITIAL POWER CONNECTION
Verify that the available power is the same as the
power nameplate located on the back of the printer.
Also verify that the power cord , plug , and fuse supplied
with the printer match the specified power indicated on
the power nameplate.
WARNING
Refer all voltage changes and internal strap
changes to qualified personnel.
