The Lock icon
When the 828 has successfully resolved to the
current clock source, the Lock icon (Figure 5-2)
turns green. When the 828 has not yet successfully
locked to the current clock source for some
reason, the lock icon turns red. Check the Clock
Source setting (item #3 on page 43), cable
connections, etc.
USB Status
The Host icon (Figure 5-2) indicates the status of
the USB connection to the computer. Blue
indicates a successful connection to the host; the
number indicates the format of the USB
connection (USB2 or USB3). When the icon turns
yellow, this indicates that USB connectivity has not
yet been establish for some reason.
MIDI Activity
The MIDI Activity indicators (Figure 5-2) flash
green when MIDI data is sent from or received by
the 828 MIDI jacks. The MIDI OUT jack becomes
THRU when MIDI thru is enabled (page 28).
Mic return indicator
The mic return indicators (Figure 5-2) appear
when a cable is connected to the RETURN input
on the rear panel. Accordingly, the level meter
indicates the level of the signal being received on
the RETURN input.

Meter views
Several alternative meter views are available, such
as All meters and Analog I/O only. These can be
chosen from the MENU (see the next section).
