Using Still
To view a still picture during playback press the
Start/Stop. Press the Start/Stop button again to
resume playback.. If you leave the camcorder in
play/pause mode for more than 5 minutes the
camcorder automatically stops the cassette to pre¬
vent damage to the tape. You can view a still pic¬
ture with less .noise on the LCD monitor (Clear
Still).
Note: During still playback of Hi8/8 recordecl
tape, noise may appear or color may disap¬
pear, but this does not .indicate a fault.
Note: The still picture will have several noise
bars in the viewfinder and on the PL but this
does not indicate a fault.
Using Forward and Reverse Search
When looking for a particular point in your videotape

Press the FF button during playback to visually
scan the tape forward at a high speed. Press the
PLAY Button to return, to normal playback,

Press and hold down the FF button during for¬
ward search to visually scan the tape forward at
a higher speed.
Releasing the FF button will return the ca.m-
corder to normal .forward search.

Press the REW button during playback to visu¬
ally scan the tape backward at a high speed.
Press the PLAY Button to return to normal
playback.
®
Press and hold down the REW button during
reverse search to visually scan the tape back¬
ward at a higher speed. Releasing the RE W but¬
ton will return the camcorder to normal reverse
search.
Note: When you engage FF button or REW but¬
ton the picture will have some interference or
noise in the viewfinder. This is normal during
search mode. (Only during Hi8/8 playback)

Note:
if you are freezing a picture vdth the
LCD monitor dosed, then you will not be able
to view a still picture with less noise when you
open the monitor. (Only during Hi8/8 play¬
back)
use the FF button and REW button to find the spot
Note: If you are using forward or reverse .search
with the LCD monitor dosed, then you will not
be able to view pictures with less noise when
you open the monitor. (Only during Hi8/8 play¬
back)
Note: if you engage fast forward or rewind dur¬
ing playback of analog video, noise bars will
appear in the searched picture.
If you engage fast forward or rewind during
playback of digital video, mosaic like noise will
appear in the searched picture. (Only during
H!8/8 playback)
Note: A noiseless picture will not appear during
high-speed search even it the LCD monitor is
open. (Only during Hi8/8 playback)
Note:
Noise may flow during high-speed
search in low temperature conditions. (Only
during HI8/8 playback)
Note: If there is a no-signal recorded portion in
the middle of tape, or if the Hi8 recorded por¬
tion and Digital 8 recorded portion are mixed
on tape, the linear time counter may not oper¬
ate correctly.
Note: During analog playback, noise may
appear in the search picture on the LCD moni¬
tor or color may disappear, but this does not
indicate a fauit.
Note: When Digital 8 recorded tapes are visual¬
ly scanned during torv/ard or reverse) search,
mosaic "like noise will appear.
Note: When Hi8/8 recorded tapers are visually
scanned during forward or reverse search, you
can vi€)w the noise!e,ss picturfi) on the) LCD
screen,
