5 Preparing for use

5.1 Connecting system components

The R&S QPS Walk2000 consists of several components that you need to connect to
each other. All components (incl. cables) are part of the delivery.

Network connections
Before connecting the product to a local area network (LAN), consider the following:
Install the latest software to reduce security risks.
For internet or remote access, use secured connections if applicable.
Ensure that the network settings comply with the security policies of your company.
Contact your local system administrator or IT department before connecting your
product to your company LAN.
When connected to the LAN, the product can potentially be accessed from the
internet, which can be a security risk. For example, attackers might misuse or dam-
age the product.
