Changing the Hydraulic System Oil Filter: The hydraulic
system oil filter should be changed after the first 50
hours of operation and every 300 hours thereafter.
1.
Remove the radiator shell grill.
2.
Remove the drain plug (2), Figure 80, and drain
the oil. The oil will drain faster if the dipstick (1),
Figure 78, is removed.
IMPORTANT: Remove oil that has spilled on the
radiator fins.
3.
Loosen the hydraulic filter attaching bolt and re-
move the filter assembly, Figure 81.
4.
Clean the filter cavity of the reservoir with a lint-
free cloth.
5.
Separate the filter element (5), Figure 81, from the
cover assembly (2) and remove the 0-ring from
the bypass valve (4). Clean the cover.
6.
Replace the filter element in the reservoir, replace
the drain plug, then refill the reservoir. Pour the
oil through the filter. Check the oil level on the
dipstick. See page 70 for the type of oil to use.
7.
Place a new 0-ring on the bypass valve and insert
the cover assembly into the new filter. Tighten
the attaching bolt securely.
8.
Start and run the engine at 1200-1500 rpm for
approximately 15 minutes. This will bleed air
from the system.
9.
If the tractor is equipped with a backhoe or loader,
relieve hydraulic pressure by actuating the control
handles with the engine off. Check the oil level.
Add oil through the dipstick opening as required.
10.
Install the grill.
Cleaning the Hydraulic System Reservoir Outlet Screen:
Clean the screen after the first 50 hours of operation
and at every hydraulic system oil change thereafter.
1.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic system reservoir
and remove the filter as covered in Steps 1 through
3 of the preceding filter change procedure.
2.
Remove the four bolts and lock washers from the
bottom of the reservoir, (4) Figure 80, and carefully
slide the outlet adapter elbow (3) to the side.
3.
Remove the outlet screen, Insert, Figure 80, from
the reservoir.
4.
Wash the screen in a suitable cleaning solvent.
