OPERATION
1 Attaching Bolts
When mounting rear wheel weights on Ford 515 and
535 Tractors, it is desirable to balance the number of
weights on the inside and outside of the wheels. On Ford
335 and 420 Tractors, the weights can be mounted on
the outside of the wheels only.
WEIGHTING LIMITATIONS
When adding equipment, liquid ballast, or cast iron
weights, observe the weighting limitations on page 35.
For detailed information on counterweighting for loader
operations, refer to your Loader Operator's Manual.
If additional information is required when adding weight
to your tractor, see your Ford Tractor-Equipment Dealer.
TIRE PRESSURE
Tire pressure must be considered when adding weight
to the tractor. The tire load capacity is affected by
inflation pressure.
The "Tire Inflation vs. Permissible Load" chart on pages
35 and 36 lists various tires available and shows the max-
imum load they can carry for a given air pressure.
On soft soils, it is beneficial to use
the
minimum infla-
tion pressure in order to increase flotation and reduce
the rolling resistance. On hard surfaces, near maximum
pressure should be used in order to reduce the internal
flexing of the tire.
