Adjusting headlamp level

Headlamp levelling
is adjusted using one of the
thumbwheels in the instrument panel.
The load in the car changes the vertical align-
ment of the headlamp beam, which could dazzle
oncoming motorists. Avoid this by adjusting the
headlamp level. Lower the beam if the car is
heavily laden.
1. Keep the engine running or the car's electri-
cal system in ignition position I.
2. Roll the thumbwheel up/down to raise/lower
headlamp level.
The position in which the thumbwheel should be
set for a number of load cases is shown below.
Applies to vehicles with halogen headlamps.
