SECTION 5 Start-up, operation and shutdown procedures (continued)
Follow these steps to verify the operating condition of your fans.
1. Make sure the main circuit breaker in the electrical box for the evaporator is in the On position.
2. Also make sure that all circuit breakers located inside the electrical box are in the On position.
3. Set both potentiometers to the POSITION Ø (Zero).
4. Turn the key to the On position.
5. Turn the potentiometer for the SECONDARY air fan to POSITION 4.
6. The door located behind the evaporator allows access to the fans. Make sure that the highest fan is drawing
air. If this is the case, continue the operation. If not, do not start the evaporator.
7. Turn the potentiometer for the SECONDARY air fan to POSITION Ø (Zero).
8. Turn the potentiometer for the PRIMARY air fan(s) to POSITION 4.
9. The door located behind the evaporator allows access to the fans.
• If your model has only one fan: make sure that the lowest fan is drawing air. If this is the case, continue the
operation. If not, do not start the evaporator.
• If your model has two fans: make sure that the two lowest fans are drawing air. If this is the case, continue
the operation. If one of the two fans is not drawing air, do not start the evaporator.
Note | Evaporators measuring 4 feet or less in width only have one primary air fan, whereas evaporators
measuring 5 feet or more in width have two primary air fans.
10. Turn the potentiometer for the PRIMARY air fan(s) to POSITION Ø (Zero).
