Modem jack
1. In case of a lightning storm, unplug the modem cable from the
telephone jack.
2. Do not connect the modem to a digital telephone line. A digital line
will damage the modem.

The figure below shows the underside of the computer. Make sure the
display is closed before turning over your computer.

The modem jack lets you use a modular cable
to connect the modem directly to a telephone
line.
The battery pack powers the computer when the
universal AC adaptor is not connected. For
detailed information on the battery pack, refer to
Chapter 6, Power.

This cover protects two memory module
sockets. One or two modules are preinstalled.
