Satellite M30 Series
The LCD displays high-contrast text and
graphics. The computer's WXGA screen consists
of 1280 x 800 pixels. Refer to Appendix D.
When the computer operates on the universal
AC adaptor the display screen's image will be
somewhat brighter than when it operates on
battery power. The lower brightness level is
intended to save battery power.
The speakers emit sound generated by your
software as well as audio alarms, such as low
battery condition, generated by the system.
A built-in microphone lets you record sounds
into your applications. See Using the
microphone in Chapter 4, Operating Basics.
Press the power button to turn the computer's
power on and off.
LEDs let you monitor the status of various
computer functions. Details are given in the
Indicators section.
Press this button to launch an Internet browser.
If the computer's power is off, you can press this
button to turn on the computer's power and
launch the browser automatically in one step.
Press this button to launch an application
automatically. The default is TOSHIBA Console.
Press this button to set your display device to
TV (Video-out). Press it again to return to LCD.
A Touch pad located in the palm rest is used to
control the on-screen pointer. Refer to the Touch
pad section in Chapter 4, Operating Basics.
Control buttons below the Touch pad let you
select menu items or manipulate text and
graphics designated by the on-screen pointer.
