The computer is powered by one rechargeable
lithium-ion battery pack.
The computer has an internal battery to back up
the internal Real Time Clock (RTC) and calendar.

are low. It comes with a detachable power cord.
Because it is universal, it can receive a range of
AC voltage from 100 to 240 volts; however, the
output current varies among different models.
Using the wrong model can damage your
computer. Refer to the Universal AC adaptor
section in Chapter 2, The Grand Tour.

Accommodates either 3½" 1.44-megabyte or
720-kilobyte diskettes. It connects to a USB
port. It is an option with some models.
The computer is configured with one of the
optical media drives listed below. Refer also to
Chapter 2, The Grand Tour, for specifications
and to Chapter 4, Operating Basics, for
information on using the drives.
CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive
A full-size, CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive module lets
you run CD/DVDs without using an adaptor. It
reads DVD-ROMs at maximum 8 speed and
CD-ROMs at maximum 24 speed. It writes CD-R
and CD-RW at up to 24 speed. A Mode Control
button turns power to the CD-RW/DVD-ROM
drive on and off so you can use the drive as a
stand-alone audio CD player.
