Typical Configurations

The following drawings illustrate common room layouts:
This is typically a 20'L x 15'Wx 9'H
room. The videoconferencing system is
centered in the room lengthwise.
This is typically a 30'L x 20'Wx 9'H room.
The videoconferencing system may be located
anywhere in the room.
The above ceiling microphone and speaker configurations provide even coverage for the
entire conference area in each scenario. Consider microphone placement as the first and
most important step of the installation. The microphone(s) are omni-directional and
should be centered over or between the meeting participants. The speakers are isolated
from the microphones by the echo cancellation in the codec during videoconferencing or
by the Premier telephone interface during audioconferencing. The videoconferencing
systems CTG is compatible with, meet the G.167 recommendation for convergence rate.
Speaker locations should be determined by the location of participants. The CTG ceiling
speaker has a wide dispersion angle of 120°.
Please consult CTG technical support for assistance with microphone / speaker
placement.
Installation
Required Cables
CTG recommends the following cables (not included with the system) for ceiling
components or table microphones running distances over 20 feet:
