Setup
Installing the ORB Elbow Fittings & Attaching the Short Hoses
8
Checklist
You need to install one Hydraulic ORB Elbow Fitting (5550103) on each Hydraulic Cylinder.
Tip
Tip
To install the Hydraulic Elbow Fittings:
1. Remove the shipping plug from the Hydraulic Cylinder Port using a 6 mm Hex Key.
2. Remove the ORB Hydraulic Elbow Fitting from the Parts Bag and apply a few drops of hydraulic oil
to the O-ring, then attach the ORB end into the Hydraulic Cylinder Port.
Important:
The figure above details the hydraulic connections to make to the bottom of the Hydraulic Cylinder.
Not all components are shown.
3. Position the threaded fitting end as shown above; accessible but not pointed up.
You want the threaded fitting end accessible but not pointed up, as the Short Hydraulic Hose
would then angle up and could impact the underside of a Vehicle.
4. Turn the Nut until fully snug. The ORB end can be hand-tightened in place, then use a
wrench for an additional half turn to ensure it is snug. Do not use Thread Sealant on the
ORB fitting threads.
5. Perform the same process for the Hydraulic Cylinder on the other QuickJack Frame.
QuickJack™ Portable Car Jack
O-ring Boss (ORB) fittings benefit from 1-2 drops of hydraulic fluid applied to the O-ring
prior to installing the fitting in the Hydraulic Cylinder. The fluid serves to lubricate the
O-ring and helps prevent damage while tightening the fitting.
Raising the QuickJack Frame and putting a Lift Block under it or manually raising the
Platform to a locking position can provide a little bit of extra room, making it easier to
secure the Hydraulic Elbow Fitting.
Do not use Thread Sealant on either end of the Hydraulic Elbow Fitting.
