OPERATION & ADJUSTMENTS
GROUND PRESSURE
Rake wheel to ground pressure is adjusted
by turning the tab nut on the threaded rod
while the rake wheels are in the raised
position. The further forward that the nut
is on the threaded rod, the lesser the
amount of rake wheel ground pressure. The
further back that the nut is on the threaded
rod, the greater the amount of rake wheel
ground pressure.
GAUGE WHEELS
Outboard gauge wheels are located on the forward section of
each rake beam. These gauge wheels support the rake beams to
allow the rake wheels to better follow the contour of the ground.
Located on each gauge wheel pivot spindle is an adjustable brake
assembly. Adjust the brake by tightening bolt and nut. The brake
should have enough tension to prevent zig-zag motion, but still
allow the wheel to pivot when making corners.
