Procedure 5-6

Replacing the ECU

Use this procedure to replace the environmental control unit (ECU).

Turn off power to the ECU by turning the appropriate circuit breakers to the
off position (see
Figure
Make sure there is no power supplied to the ECU.
Remove the screws that connect the ECU to the heat exchanger vent.
Lift the ECU with caution up away from the vent. Disconnect and remove the
ECU (see
Figure
5-10).
Disconnect the connectors J1 through J20 on the ECU.
Put away the damaged ECU with a label which indicates the failure report.
Install a new ECU.
Connect J1 through J20 (see
Put back the screws that connect the ECU to the heat exchanger vent.
When all work is complete, apply power to the ECU.

routine, see
