Introduction to the Pump

The binary pump comprises two identical pumps integrated into one housing.
Binary gradients are created by high-pressure mixing. A built-in degasser is
available for applications that require best flow stability, especially at low flow
rates, for maximum detector sensitivity. Pulse damper and mixer can be
bypassed for low flowrate applications or whenever a minimal transient volume
is desirable. Typical applications are high throughput methods with fast
gradients on high resolution 2.1 mm columns. The pump is capable of delivering
flow in the range of 0.1 – 5 mL/min against up to 600 bar. A solvent selection
valve (optional) allows to form binary mixtures (isocratic or gradient) from one of
two solvents per channel. Active seal wash (optional) is available for use with
concentrated buffer solutions.
