Filling the Planetary-Gear-Drive
with Lubricant
1. Through the fill-plug hole, slowly add the
specified gear lubricant; refer to
Checking the Planetary-Gear-Drive Lubricant
(page 65).
You should see the lubricant level at the bottom
of the threads in the check-plug hole.
Important:
If the planetary-gear drive fills
before the specified lubricant quantity is
added, wait 1 hour or install the plugs, and
move the machine approximately ten feet to
distribute the lubricant through the brake
system. Then, remove the plugs and add the
remaining lubricant.
2. Allow the lubricant level to settle for 10 minutes,
check the lubricant level, and add lubricant as
needed to raise the level to the bottom of the
threads in the check-plug hole.
3. Install the fill plug and check plug; refer to
Figure 85 in Checking the Planetary-Gear-Drive
Lubricant (page 65).
4. Repeat the steps in
Planetary-Gear-Drive Lubricant (page 66)
and Filling the Planetary-Gear-Drive with
Lubricant (page 67)for the planetary-gear drive
at the other side of the machine.
Adjusting the Front Wheel
Toe-In
Service Interval: Every 200 hours/Yearly (whichever
comes first)
You should measure 0 to 3 mm (0 to 1/8 inch) between
the front centerline of the tires and the back centerline
of the tires.
1. Check and fill all tires; refer to
Air Pressure (page
2. Measure the distance between of the front tires
at the axle height at the front and rear of the
front tires (Figure
Note:
The distance between the front of the
tires should be 0 to 3 mm (0 to 1/8 inch) less
than the distance between the back side of the
front tires.

3. If the measurement does not fall within the
specified range, loosen the jam nuts at both
ends of the tie rod

4. Rotate the tie rod to move the front of the tire
inward or outward.
5. Tighten the tie rod jam nuts when the adjustment
is correct.
6. Ensure that the steering wheel rotates an equal
amount in both directions.
