3.9.3 Paper jam

■ Paper jam in the ADF cover (Error code A3, etc)
User Check
• Check whether the document does not use the paper which is thinner than the
specification.
• Check whether length does not use paper equal to or less than 147.3 mm.

Remedy
Remove foreign objects inside the area
around the ADF cover, if any.
Check the harness connection of the
document scanning position detection
sensor and reconnect it.
Replace the document scanning position
detection sensor PCB ASSY.
Replace the ADF unit.
Replace the main PCB ASSY.
Remedy
Remove foreign objects inside the ADF, if
any.
Correct catching of the document
scanning position detection actuator.
Check the sensor performance following
the procedure described in
code 32".
If any problem occurs, replace the
document scanning position detection
sensor PCB ASSY.
Replace the document feed roller ASSY.
Replace the ADF unit.
Replace the main PCB ASSY.
Remedy
Remove foreign objects around the paper
eject, if any.
Replace the ADF unit.
Replace the main PCB ASSY.
