5. Assembly of bar and chain

The chain saw is standard packed as shown on
illustration F1.
1) Engine unit
2) Bar protector
3) Bar
4) Chain
5) Sparking plug wrench
Use therefore only protective gloves when mounting/dismounting/adjusting the chain.
Bar and chain is assembled - see illustration F2:
1) Pull the chain brake handle backwards against the
Machine so that the brake is not activated
2) Loosen the nuts and remove the plastic shield (3)
Remove the black transport-part from the driving wheel
3) Place the bar on the threaded pins (1)
And push it towards the driving wheel
4) Place the chain on the driving wheel with the teeth
pointing forward (against the bar tip). See illustration F3
Place the driving link of the chain, so that it is correctly
connected with the teeth of the driving wheel
5) Make sure the chain is placed precisely on the bar
6) Remount the plastic screen (3). Make sure the chain
tension tap (2) is placed correctly in the hole of the bar
7) Before the nuts are tightened - the chain should be
adjusted by the tensioner screw (1), until it fits precisely
(2) = chain is loosened
(3) = chain is tightened
See illustration F4
The chain shall be tightened so that you can exactly lift the driving link free of the trace
of the bar.
Note: A new chain can expand itself lengthwise in the beginning. Therefore make sure to
inspect and tighten it on a regular basis – as a loose chain can jump off and cause wear of
the chain and the bar.
WARNING
The chain has very sharp teeth.
