DESCALING
In areas with hard water, scale from mineral content in your water may build up
over time in your coffee brewer. Mineral content build-up will lead to extended
coffee brewing times and possibly damage essential components of the brewer.
Bonavita recommends descaling your brewer every 100 brewing cycles or when
the DESCALE button is illuminated. If your brewer makes an unusually loud
noise, proper brewing temperature range of 198º-205ºF (92°-96°C), or delays
brew time, you may need to descale more frequently.
This brewer should be descaled using a biodegradable and phosphate free
coffee machine descaler. Bonavita recommends Cafetto Renew for all of your
descaling purposes.
NOTE: Vinegar may not effectively descale your brewer and can be
difficult to rinse out thoroughly. Vinegar may also leave behind an order
that can impact the flavor of your coffee.
