(2) USB Connection: PC-SBI and PC-xBPI Operating Mode
To use the balance as a slave device for the protocols PC-SBI and PC-xBPI, first install
a USB driver on the connected PC. This driver can be located in the "Driver" folder on
the balance. The balance is then operated via a virtual, serial interface (COM port).
Installing the USB Driver
The USB driver for the virtual, serial interface is Microsoft-listed and available online
via the Microsoft Update Service.
A USB driver does not need to be installed if the PC is connected to a network and
has administrator rights (authorization to install updates). The driver is installed
automatically on the PC in this case when the balance is connected to the PC.
If the PC is not connected to a network, the following information must be taken into
account:
