Sound of Rushing Air At the front of the unit, you may hear the sound of rushing air being moved by the fan. Gurgle / Hiss “Gurgling” or “hissing” noise may be heard due to refrigerant passing through evaporator during normal operation. Your air conditioner is designed install in standard double hung windows with opening widths of 23 to 36 inches (584mm to 914mm) (See Fig.1) Lower sash must have sufficient vertical opening for installation (Table 1). Side and rear of unit needs to be clear of obstacles to allow airflow through condenser.
