1. The Emergency Stop switch
(ON) (see Figure 11.5).
2. The Platform/Ground Selector switch
(see Figure 11.5) must be set to
PLATFORM.

11. Emergency Operation
IMPORTANT
The EPV16 has an ENABLE switch fitted to
the Upper & Lower control boxes. (see
Chapter 6 for a full explanation of the
operation of this switch).
Some machines may also be fitted with a
FOOT OPERATED ENABLE switch.
On those machines fitted with the foot
switch option, both the switch on the control
box and the foot switch perform the same
function.
If the FOOT OPERATED ENABLE SWITCH
op tion is in stalled on your ma chine go to
Step 4 - oth er wise go to Step 5.

4. Step on the plat form foot switch

Go to Step 6.
5. Op er ate the En able switch
switch down and hold it down .
6. Whilst still operating the enable switch, press
and hold the Emergency Lower switch
down and the upper boom will begin
lowering.
7. To op er ate other func tions dur ing the
emer gency lower the fol low ing switches must
be op er ated to gether.

As soon as these switches are op er ated the
up per boom will be gin de scend ing. If an other
func tion is de sired it must be se lected be fore
the boom has reached the rest po si tion
e.g. Up per or Lower Boom
NOTE:
When emer gency low er ing, it is only pos si ble to
Slew or lower the Jib Boom whilst the Up per
boom is low er ing.
