Installation Before working on combine or under header always: 1. Perform all combine and header manufacturer safety precautions for servicing header. 2. Insert stop to prevent movement of header. 3. Turn off combine and remove key from ignition. 4. Set combine parking brake. 5.
Mounting Height Sensors 1. Determine sensor mounting locations. • Outer sensors should be mounted on the narrow end divider snouts • Inner sensor should be evenly spaced across the header 2. Remove and discard the two bolts holding on snout tip. 3.

7. Cut the inner snout poly as shown. • Drill large holes at corner and them cut up to the holes to avoid leaving sharp corners in the poly that may tear 8. Mount the sensor bracket using the 2 holes that were drilled and the button head bolts provided.
Height Sensor Wiring Properly routing the wiring is the most critical part of the installation process. Please take time to ensure that you have allowed sufficient slack for motion as well as sufficient clearance from moving header parts or crop flow. Harness Length Table 1.
Removing Wires for Tight Access When routing the wiring, there may be times when you would like to route the wiring through a small hole. You may remove the Weatherpack connector by using the following procedure. This step is NOT required; it is only shown to aid installation as needed. 1.
Routing Wiring (Outer Rows) 1. Connect 3 pin Weatherpack on extension harness to connector on main harness labeled with appropriate sensor location. 2. Route harness down and out toward end of header using wire channel “A”. 3. At end of wire channel, route wire out end panel. 4.

• Right end of header 5. Route wire forward through hood above square steel tube. 6. Drill hole in the front of hood to enter snout. 7. Drill hole in snout and route forward to connect to crop sensor. 8. Follow the harness back to the feederhouse securing with zip ties and wire clamps.
Routing Wiring (Inner Rows) 1. Connect 3 pin Weatherpack on extension harness to connector on main harness labeled with appropriate sensor location. 2. Route harness down and out to desired row using channel “A”. 3. The harness should extend about 6” out of channel where it will connect to 10 ft harness (which will route forward to sensor.) •...

7. Follow the harness back to the feederhouse securing with zip ties and wire clamps. Use care around the snout pivot point, keeping the wire away from stubble but still leaving enough slack to fold.
Install Horizon System (if equipped) Install Controller 1. Bolt Horizon controller to the header panel as shown. Routing Auxiliary Backbone Harness 1. Connect 16 pin connector (Y904) on aux backbone harness to main Horizon Harness. 2. Route shorter tail with single connector (Y197) through wire channel toward left end of header.
Installing Sickle Speed Sensor 1. Remove 2 bolts shown. 2. Install speed sensor through hole in bracket and finger tighten jamb nuts. 3. Zip tie sensor tail to the bracket as shown. 4. Bolt bracket inside sickle drive box using bolts removed in step 1. 5.
Installing Row Unit Speed Sensors 1. The two row unit sensors should be installed in the gear boxes 1 row right and left of center of header. 2. Remove rear bolt from shaft bearing plate. 3. Install speed sensor through hole in bracket and finger tighten jamb nuts.
Installing Auger Speed Sensor 1. Remove 2 nuts Indicated. 2. Install speed sensor through hole in bracket and finger tighten jamb nuts. 3. Install bracket using nuts removed in step 1. 4. Adjust sensor so it is 1/8” from outer point on castle nut and tighten jamb nuts on sensor body.
Installing Fore/Aft Sensor 1. Remove 2 bolts Indicated and discard. 2. Insert button head bolts provided into holes and install sensor bracket assembly. • Use large washer on lower bolt to account for thickness of flange 3. Install tie rod in inner hole of sensor arm. 4.
4. Connect Headsight Brown (Stubble) to stubble light lamp wire (if equipped). See the Headsight combine manual for more details about how to install the remaining wiring harness or control box and then connect each individual sensor.

Sensor Adjustment Insert header stop to prevent movement. Changing Swing 1. Loosen the bolt A holding downstop. 2. Slide the downstop to new position in slotted hole. • Raising downstop will increase voltage swing and allow higher maximum cutting height •...
Sensor Extensions Headsight recommends using the lowest extension setting that allows you to run high as you desire. Increasing the length of the extension will reduce header control sensitivity. 1. Remove flange lock nut then remove arm and spring. 2. Install extension to sensor assembly with previously removed spring and flange locknut.
