Setting the IP Address
As part of the initial installation, make sure you connect Ethernet port 1 on the back of the
nTier700 to an Ethernet network that can be accessed from a remote host. After you power-on the
nTier700, the next step is to set the IP address for Ethernet port 1 on the nTier700 rear panel. The
IP address for Ethernet port 1 displays on the operator panel of each nTier700 blade and is used to
access the nTier700 BlueScale
By default, Ethernet port 1 uses DHCP to obtain an IP address. To view the IP address assigned to
Ethernet port 1 or to set a static IP address, use the left arrow button (<) on the operator panel of
any blade to move to the IP Configuration tab (a globe icon) at the bottom of the screen.
If your site uses DHCP, the IP address displays on the screen.
If your site does not use DHCP, the IP address will be 0.0.0.0. Use the buttons on the
operator panel to assign a static IP address. Read "Setting the nTier700 IP Address" in the

information.
