Engine Oil

classificationSF,SG,or SH. Selectthe oil'sSAE viscositygrade
accordingto the expectedoperatingtemperature.Referto opera-
tionsectionfor viscositychart.

Changeengineoil after thefirst five to eight hoursof operation,
and everyfifty hoursor every seasonthereafter. C hangeoil every
twentyfive hourswhenoperatingengineunder heavyload or in
high temperatures.
To Drain Oil
1.
Drainthe fuelfrom the tank by runningthe engine untilthe fuel
tank is empty.
2.
With engineOFF butstill warm,disconnectspark plug wireand
keepit awayfrom spark plug.
3.
Removesquareoil drain plug locatedat the baseof the engine,
and drainoil into an appropriatereceptacle. S ee Figure13.
Usedoil is a hazardouswasteproduct.Disposeof usedoil properly.
Do notdiscardwith householdwaste.Checkwith your localauthori-
ties or SearsServiceCenterfor safedisposal/recycling facilities.

Replaceand tightentheoil drain plug.
5.
Whenengine is drainedof all oil, placeenginelevel.Refillwith
approximately 20 oz. of fresh oil. Fillto FULL line on dipstick.Do
notoverfill.Referto Gas And Oil Fill-Up in OPERATION section.
6.
Replaceoil fill dipstickand tighten.
7.
Replacespark plug wire beforestarting.
Temperature of mufflerand nearbyareas mayexceed150 ° F (65°0).
Avod these areas.
