9.12 Differential pressure sensor

9.12.1 Outline of differential pressure
sensor
The differential pressure sensor detects the pressure
difference between the inlet and outlet of the DPF.
9.12.2 Structure of differential pressure

The differential pressure sensor is made up of strain
gauge (piezoresistive element) and diaphragm and the

9.12.3 Function of differential pressure
sensor
The differential pressure sensor measures the pressure
difference between the inlet and outlet of the DPF and
sends this information to the engine ECU.
The engine ECU calculates the amount of PM
accumulated in the DPF based on the differential
pressure sensor information.
