Self Calibration

Calibrates the front sensor based on the USB optical sensor. Or to manually adjust the integrated front sensor with an external
near range luminance sensor reference, which is traceable to a primary standards laboratory. Self Calibration should be
performed when UNIFORMITY or orientation have been changed. All PICTURE MODES are updated when Self Calibration is
performed.
NOTE:
AUTO CALIB. mode requires connecting the USB optical sensor to the sensor port.
EXPERT CALIB. mode requires an external near range luminance sensor.
1. To show the CALIBRATION menu, plug-in the USB optical sensor to the sensor port (Figure S.1) or select STAND ALONE
CALIBRATION in the advanced menu (page 20).
2. Use "LEFT" or "RIGHT" to select SELF in the MODE selection (Figure S.2). Press "UP" or "DOWN" to move to the next
selection.

3. Use "LEFT" or "RIGHT" to select AUTO CALIB. or EXPERT CALIB. in the OPTION selection. Press SELECT to go to the
next section.
4. Select the target UNIFORMITY. Press SELECT to go to the next section.
5. Set the target LUMINANCE (cd/m
To select AUTO CALIB., go to step 6. To select EXPERT CALIB., go to step 7.
[AUTO CALIB.] Make sure that the USB optical sensor is connected to the sensor port.
6. The procedure will ask for the USB optical sensor to be placed on the center of the display panel (Figure S.4). Tilt the
display panel approximately 5° backward and place the USB optical sensor in the center of the display panel (Figure S.1).
NOTE:
Place the USB optical sensor fl at against the LCD to avoid any infl uence of ambient light.
DO NOT press the USB optical sensor against the display panel.
Press "SELECT" to start the calibration.
Go to step 9.
[EXPERT CALIB.] An external near range luminance sensor, which is traceable to a primary standards laboratory, is required for
this method.
7. The measument screen will be displayed. Measure the luminance value of the center of the display by using the external
near range luminance sensor. Input the measured value to MEASURED LUMINANCE by using the control keys, then press
SELECT (Figure S.5).
8. According to the message window, repeat the measurement of luminance and input the measured value until the procedure
is completed.
9. Gamma Adjust and DICOM Measurement are then executed automatically. After completing DICOM Measurement, you can
set DATE and TIME by using control keys.
