Connecting handsets and cables

Follow the steps below to connect handsets and extension cables together.
1. If fitted, unscrew and remove the dust cap from the relevant connector.
2. Ensure the cable connectors are correctly orientated, before insertion.
3. Ensure connectors are fully inserted, before locking..
4. Tighten locking collars by Rotating clockwise.
8.7 SeaTalkng ® / NMEA 2000 connection
Your product can transmit and receive data to and from devices connected on SeaTalkng ® or NMEA
2000 CAN bus networks. Connection is established using the SeaTalkng ® connector located on the
rear of the unit.
1.
Use the supplied SeaTalkng ® spur cable to connect your product to your SeaTalkng ® network.
2. You can also use a DeviceNet to SeaTalkng ® adaptor cable (not supplied) to connect your
product to an available spur on a NMEA 2000 network.
Note:
1.
The product must be connected to a correctly terminated backbone.
2. You cannot connect your product directly to a MFD.
3. Refer to the instructions supplied with your SeaTalkng ® / NMEA 2000 device for details on
creating a backbone.
Connecting SeaTalkng ® cables
1. Rotate your product's SeaTalkng ® connector locking collar counter clockwise, so that the
connector is in the unlocked position.
2. Ensure the cable's connector is correctly oriented (groove pointing up).
3. Fully insert the cable connector..
4. Rotate the locking collar clockwise (2 clicks) until it is in the locked position.
