FUEL TANK
Fuel tanks should be made of appropriate material such as
(stainless) steel or plasti c. Steel tanks should not be galvanized
or painted inside. Condensati on can occur in metal tanks when
temperature changes. Therefore, water accumulates at the bot-
tom of the tank and provisions should be made for the drainage
of this water.
The tank will need a fi lling connecti on, a return connecti on and
an air venti lati on connecti on which will require protecti on against
water entry.
Some offi cial regulati ons do not allow connecti on points at the
base of the fuel tank; in this instance connecti ons are to be made
at the top of the tank with internal tubing down to a few cm
above the bott om of the tank.

FUEL LIFT PUMP
The generati ng set itself is equipped with a fuel lift pump; there-
fore the tank can be installed at a lower level than the generati ng
set. The maximum sucti on height is 1 m. The M-SQ- PRO 18 has a
mechanical fuel lift -pump that should be primed manually before
the fi rst start/use.´
If the pump has to lift the fuel higher than one meter an external
electrical fuel lift pump must be installed (Art. No. 50201161)
or heavy duty pump (Art. No. 50201168). The control board is
already prepared to connect an extra fuel pump.

FUEL PIPES
When the tank is above the generati ng set we recommend end-
ing the return line on the top of the tank.
When the return is on the top - in case of a leakage the return
line cannot overfl ow because of siphoning. One will only need a
fuel cock in the fuel supply line (see fi gure 3). When the tank is
below the generati ng set we recommend ending the return line
on the bott om of the tank (A) below the inlet of the supply line
(see fi gure 4)
