Overview
The following table gives an overview of the integrated safety functions which come into
effect if problems occur during operation:
Fault
Leakage
Mains power supply
failure
Mains power supply
failure and battery dis-
charged
Failure of the central
gas supply system
Complete failure of
the gas supply
Flow measurement
failure
Failure of fresh-gas
delivery (electroni-
cally controlled mixer
only)
Ventilator failure
Screen fault (screen
does not respond to
operation or has
failed)

Safety function
Pressure regulation and PEEP compensation
–
In mechanical ventilation modes, the set PEEP is actively
adjusted even in the case of small leaks.
–
In pressure-controlled modes, the pressure is controlled
during the entire respiratory cycle.
Uninterruptible power supply provided by internal battery
–
Device runtime in battery operation see Instruction for Use
–
Automatic deactivation of the breathing system warmer to
increase battery runtime
–
Manual ventilation and spontaneous breathing are available
–
Emergency O
delivery (electronically controlled gas mixer)
2
–
Fresh-gas delivery (mechanically controlled gas mixer)
–
Delivery of anesthetic agents via connected vaporizers
–
Use of the connected gas cylinders
–
Mechanical ventilation with ambient air possible (the hose
with the breathing bag will have to be removed for this)
–
No anesthetic agent delivery from the connected vaporizers
possible; switch to intravenous anesthetic agent required
–
Mechanical ventilation can be continued.
–
Restrictions with regard to displayed measured values, mea-
surement accuracies, and when triggering mandatory
breaths are possible.
–
Emergency O
delivery
2
see Instruction for Use
–
Anesthetic agent delivery from connected vaporizers possi-
ble
–
All ventilation modes are available.
Alternatively:
–
Backup manual mode
–
Manual ventilation or spontaneous breathing possible
–
Fresh-gas delivery available
–
Anesthetic agent delivery from connected vaporizers possi-
ble
Alternatively:
–
Backup manual mode
If backup manual mode is activated:
–
Manual ventilation or spontaneous breathing possible
–
Emergency O
delivery (electronically controlled gas mixer)
2
or fresh-gas delivery (mechanically controlled gas mixer)
available
–
Anesthetic agent delivery from connected vaporizers possi-
ble
