12. Test operation and setting methods
Before starting operation, open both service valves.
WARNING
When the service valves are not open, abnormally high pressure and temperature
in the refrigeration cycle occur, resulting in risks of rupture and fi re.
The condensing unit has a delay timer for preventing short intermittent operation.
The condensing unit will not begin to operate immediately when the power is
switched ON (maximum duration: approximately 3 minutes).
12.1 Checks to perform before starting
(1) Re-check the wiring for errors and loose lines.
(2) Measure the insulation resistance and check that it is at least 1 MΩ.
(3) Check that the power supply voltage is within ±10% of rated voltage.
(4) Be sure to check for small amounts of refrigerant after vacuum creation. The compressor will be
damaged by vacuum discharge if the cycle is operated as a vacuum.
12.2 Pre-operation settings
Set the auxiliary control switches on the printed circuit board as indicated below.

• (NO. 1 setting) Sets the number of error determinations
ON:
Three times (Stops when a condensing unit error occurs, but restarts after a
maximum duration of approximately three minutes. Upon detection of three
continuous errors, including the initial error, the condensing unit is completely
stopped for error determination. Factory default position.)
OFF: One time (The condensing unit is completely stopped immediately upon error
detection, for error determination.)
• (NO. 2 setting) Special settings
ON:
Should always be on. (Factory default position)
• (NO. 3 setting) Remote communication settings
ON:
Should always be ON to enable remote communication. (Factory default position)
• (NO. 4 setting) Oil-back operation settings
ON:
Force-stops the compressor when the operating frequency of the compressor is
45 Hz or less for 60 continuous minutes, then restarts in oil-back operation after
three minutes. (Factory default position)
OFF: Oil-back operation is not performed.
• Controller selection switch
Set on the right side (ON) (Factory default position)
*This model does not allow refrigerant selection setting.
