11. Electrical wiring

Electrical work must be performed in accordance with this manual. A
dedicated circuit must always be used.
WARNING
Insufficient capacity in the power circuit or inadequate installation may cause
electric shock or fi re.
Use predetermined cables for wiring and ensure a secure connection
with secure fi xing, and check that no external power reaches the

Incomplete connection or fi xing may cause fi res.
Must always be grounded
WARNING
Incomplete grounding may cause electric shocks. Do not connect the grounding
line to gas pipes, water pipes, or telephone lines.
Do not install a phase advancing condenser
CAUTION
Installing a phase advancing condenser with the inverter condensing unit may
lead to rupture, smoke, fi re, and electrical leakage.
11.1 Phase advancing condensers cannot be installed
The inverter condensing unit is in leading phase. Installing a phase advancing condenser not only
worsens the power factor, but may also lead to rupture, smoke, fi re, and electrical leakage. Never
install a phase acceleration condenser.
11.2 Power supply capacity
The motor used by the condensing unit (compressor) is set to a higher power output than general-
purpose motors. Thus, take extra care with power supply capacity considerations for the declared
output.

11.3 Safety precautions for electrical wiring
(1) Be sure to always use a leakage breaker (rated current sensitivity: 30 mA, rated operating
time: 100 msec).
(2) Be sure to connect grounding to a dedicated terminal.
(3) Always press-fit dedicated-purpose ring terminals to the wiring connectors.
(4) Always close electrical component lids to prevent conductor exposure. Also, be sure to
always install cabinets and covers for connectors.
(5) Use drip-proof and waterproof specifi cations for outdoor wiring components.
(6) Ensure that the wiring does not come into contact with high-temperature components and
components prone to scratching.
