Control Panel

The switches and LEDs located on the control panel are described below. See Chapter 4 for
details on the control panel connections.

Control Panel Features
Description
The main power button is used to apply or remove power from the power
supply to the server. Turning off system power with this button removes the
main power but maintains standby power. To perform many maintenance
tasks, you must also unplug system before servicing
Indicates network activity on the LAN port when flashing
See table below for details.
The Unit ID (UID) button is used to turn on or off the blue UID LED to easily
locate the server in racks and server banks. Solid blue indicates the UID
was activated locally. Blinking blue indicates UID was activated remotely.
Information LED
Description
1. An overheat condition has occurred.
2. An HDD(s) status has changed. (For details, please refer to the Hard
Drive Carrier Indicators section in 3.5 Chassis Components.)
Fan failure, check for an inoperative fan.
Power failure, check for a non-operational power supply.
