Be sure to comply with all local laws regarding going out at
night and take the following extra precautions:
• Make sure your bicycle is well equipped with correctly posi-
tioned and securely fastened reflectors.
• Make sure you are not wearing clothing or having objects on
the bicycle that could cover the reflective device or the light of
the headlights;
• If necessary, purchase and install front and rear lights that
are battery or generator powered and that meet regulatory
requirements and provide adequate visibility.
• Wear light colored and reflective clothing and accessories,
such as a reflective jacket, arm/leg bands or reflective strips
on the helmet, flashing lights applied to the body and/or to
the bicycle. In this way, attracting the attention of motorists,
pedestrians and any road user will certainly be easier;
When cycling at dawn, dusk or at night:
• proceed slowly;
• avoid parking in poorly lit or particularly busy areas;
• avoid any road hazards;
• favor known roads over new routes.
