  • Before switching the unit on, make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage specified on the unit body.
  • The unit is intended for operation with AC system and 50 Hz frequency. The unit does not need any additional settings for operating with the required nominal frequency.
  • Clean the non-stick coating of the operating surfaces with a damp cloth or a sponge and then wipe it dry.
  • Before using the unit for the first time, apply a small amount of vegetable oil on the operating surface non-stick coating and spread it.
  • Wipe excess oil with a paper cloth, close the unit, insert the power plug into the mains socket for 5-10 minutes and then unplug the unit.

warning Note: When using the unit for the first time, a specific smell from the operating surface can appear. It is normal.

MAKING SANDWICHES

  • Press the handles (3) together and close the lock (4).
  • Insert the power plug into the socket, the power indicator (1) will light up red.
  • Once the preset temperature is reached, the ready indicator (2) will light up green.
  • Open the sandwich maker and put a slice of bread on the lower non-stick surface; put the filling on the slice, cover it with the second slice of bread, carefully press the handles (3) together and close the lock (4).

Be careful when laying the ingredients as the upper and lower non-stick surfaces are hot.

  • Cook sandwiches for 6-8 minutes. Depending on your taste, you can continue cooking until the indicator (2) switches off again or choose the cooking time time at your discretion.
  • Be careful during cooking sandwiches and beware of hot steam emitted from the gaps between the frying plates. Keep your hands and other open parts of your body away from the gaps between the frying plates.
  • After the sandwiches are ready, take the power plug out of the socket and open the sandwich maker.
  • Take out the ready sandwiches with the help of a plastic or wooden spatula. Do not use sharp metal objects in order not to damage the non-stick coating.
  • Keep the unit closed if you are not using it.

TIPS

  • For the best results, use bread slices of medium thickness. The cooking time depends on the thickness of slices and sort of bread.
  • You can use wheat flour bread as well as rye flour bread.
  • Cut the bread into slices of required size.
  • Use vegetable oil or ordinary margarine to smear the slices, as other fats burn fast. Smear the bread with some oil from the outside if you want your sandwich crispy. You can add herbs, garlic, a pinch of cinnamon or other spices to the oil.
  • Do not put too much filling, otherwise the bread slices will be difficult to press together or the filling will leak.
  • 1-2 spoons of filling are usually enough. You can use anything at hand for the filling: cooked meat or fish leftovers, fried mushrooms, jam, tinned fish, any boiled/roasted vegetables. Add a drop of mayonnaise or tomato sauce to make the filling juicier.
  • Do not use filling from fresh vegetables that wilt under high temperature (lettuce, cucumber). You can have good results using tomatoes and onions.
  • Use only cooked meat or fish – the sandwich maker only heats up the filling but doesn't cook it.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Clean the unit after every use.
  • Disconnect the unit from the mains.
  • Let the unit cool down completely, to this end it is recommended to open the sandwich maker.
  • Remove bread crumbs, wipe the non-stick coating of the operating surfaces with a damp cloth and then wipe the non-stick coating dry.
  • Never use abrasives or metal scourers for cleaning the unit, as they can damage the inner non-stick coating or outer surface of the unit.
  • Never immerse the unit into water!

  • Clean the unit before taking it away for storage.
  • Wind the power cord.
