2.5 imageRUNNER ADVANCE Third Generation Platform Improvements

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE third generation platform has been designed for
advanced functionality, high-reliability, and ease of operation. The third generation
platform enables digital-business communications, such as imaging technology,
cloud connectivity, and mobile solutions to work together.
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series UFP V3.8 design improvements include:
• Security Information and Event Management Integration – See
Information and Event
• OCR Accuracy – IRIS technology is used to improve OCR (Optical Character
Recognition) accuracy when scanning to PDF or Compact PDF.
• Auto Certificate Update – Certificates can be automatically requested from the
certificate authority using Windows' NDES (Network Device Enrollment Services)
and SCEP (Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol). This eliminates the need to
manually update certificates on every device.
• Automatic Print for Forced Hold – When a user logs into the machine, all jobs
held for that user can start immediately printing after login.
• Additional Visual Message Functionality – Visual Messages (introduced with
imageRUNNER ADVANCE V3.6) can be displayed while the device is printing,
and can be accessed as a Home screen button.
• QR Code Direct Connect – Using the Canon PRINT Business or standard
camera app, an iOS 11 (or later) mobile device can establish a direct connection
with the imageRUNNER device by scanning a QR code.
Refer to the imageRUNNER ADVANCE V3.8 System Service Manual for details on
all UFP V3.8 supported features.
