REMOVING THE ROCKER ARMS AND
CAMSHAFT
1. Loosen:
Locknuts "1"
G
Valve clearance adjusting screws "2"
G
2. Remove:
Camshaft retainer "3"
G
3. Remove:
Camshaft "1"
G
NOTE:
Screw 10-mm bolt "2" into the threaded end of
G
the camshaft and then pull out the camshaft.
Take care not to interfere and damage the
G
rocker arm.
4. Remove:
Intake rocker arm shaft
G
Exhaust rocker arm shaft
G
Rocker arm (Intake and exhaust sides)
G
NOTE:
Remove the rocker arm using the weight "1" and
slide hammer bolt "2".

CHECKING THE CAMSHAFT

1. Check:
Camshaft lobes
G
Blue discoloration/pitting/scratches → Re-
place the camshaft.
2. Measure:
Camshaft lobe dimensions "a" and "b"
G
Out of specification → Replace the camshaft.
