Installing Battery
Insert 2 "AAA/ UM4" batteries to the remote control prior to use. Make sure to match their polarities (+/-) to the markings inside the compartment.

Before throwing any batteries away, consult your distributor who may be able to take them back for specific recycling.
NOTES:
- Never recharge the batteries, apply heat to them or take them apart.
- If the remote control is not going to be used for a long time, remove the battery to avoid damage caused by battery leakage corrosion.
- Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
- Do not throw batteries in fire!
- Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
POWER SUPPLY
Using the AC adaptor
The supplied AC adaptor is suitable for use on AC mains supplies of 100-240V
50/60Hz and should only be connected to a main supply within these parameters.

- The AC adaptor included with this unit is for its use only. Do not use it with other equipment.
- Turn off the unit before unplugging the AC adaptor from the unit so as to avoid the unit being damaged.
- When the unit is not going to be used for long time, disconnect the AC adaptor from the AC outlet.
- B e sure to use it near the wall outlet and easily accessible. If a malfunction occurs, disconnect the plug from the wall outlet at once.
- AC adaptor is used as the disconnect device. It shall remain readily operable and should not be obstructed during intended use. To be completely disconnected the apparatus from supply mains, the AC adaptor of the apparatus shall be disconnected from the mains socket outlet completely.
- Never use an AC adaptor that is damaged, route power lead in a safe manner and make sure it is not subjected to trapping or pinching. If the power lead is damaged refer to a qualified service agent.
TURNING UNIT ON/OFF
Press
button to turn on the unit. You will hear the voice of working mode.
Press and hold
button on unit or press
button once on remote control to turn off the unit. You will hear the voice "power off".
Note: In a concern of saving energy, when playback has reached to the end or listening volume is set at a very low level and no control is operated on the device for a period of 15 minutes, the unit will automatically switch to off mode.
SELECTING FUNCTION
The function (BLUETOOTH/ FM/ AUX/ CD/ USB) is selected by pressing SOURCE button repeatedly.
Notes:
- Once insert the USB device to the USB player port of unit, it will switch to USB mode automatically.
- U SB mode can be selected by SOURCE button only when the USB device is connected to the unit.
MUTING THE SOUND
When the unit is on, press
button on remote control to mute the sound. Press again to restore.
EQ
Press EQ button on remote control to toggle among the different sound effects:
(CLASSIC)/
(ROCK)/
(JAZZ)/
(VOICE)/
(NORMAL). The selection will show on display for few seconds.
VIRTUAL BASS
It is a separated bass mode which can be selected when there is audio signal.
Press V.B. button on remote control to turn on this function. "
" appears on display for a few seconds. Press V.B. button again to turn off this function. "
" appears on display for a few seconds.
LISTENING TO THE RADIO
When the unit is ON, press SOURCE button repeatedly to select FM mode.
Manual search
- Choose your radio station with
/
. - Adjust the volume using the
knob on unit or
/
button on remote control.
Automatic search
Press and hold
/
. The automatic search locates strong stations. A station with a weak signal can be set manually by repeatedly pressing
/
.
Note: During the search operation, the sound level is automatically muted.
Preset stations
This unit can store 30 FM stations.
Manual preset
- Select a radio station manually or in automatic search
- Press PROG. button once on unit or press
button on remote control. "
" will show on the screen. - Press PRESET repeatedly on unit or press
/
button on remote control to select your desired preset channel. - Press PROG. button on unit or
button on remote control to save it. - Repeat steps 1-4 to store other stations.
Auto preset
Press and hold SCAN on unit or press SCAN/PROG. on remote control to start automatic preset programming. Radio frequencies will be browsed and radio stations stored automatically. When all the available radio stations are stored or all memory locations are full, the auto preset programming function will stop.
Listen to station presets
Press PRESET repeatedly on unit or press
/
on remote control to select your desired preset station.
Note: For best reception, extend the detachable wire antenna.

Pairing a Bluetooth Device
- When the unit is ON, press SOURCE button repeatedly to select Bluetooth mode. "
" will show on display and blink rapidly, indicating it is in pairing mode. - On the Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and select "MUSE M-1958DJ" from the Device List. (Refer to the user manual of the device to be connected for detailed operations.) If the Bluetooth device prompts for a pass code, use "0000". Some Bluetooth devices will ask you to accept the connection. If the unit is paired properly, you will hear the voice "Connected" and "
" stops blink.
Tip: If you want to connect your Bluetooth speaker to another Bluetooth audio device, press and hold the
button to disconnect the device, and then follow the steps above to make a new connection.
- On some devices such as computers, once paired you must select the unit from the Bluetooth menu and choose "Use as Audio Device (stereo)" or similar.
- Pairing remains intact when the unit and/or your Bluetooth device is taken out of communication range. An active connection will be re-established when your Bluetooth device returns within range.
- When the unit is turned on again, it will automatically try to reconnect with the most recently paired Bluetooth device.
Using a Bluetooth Device
- With a unit paired (see previous section), operate your Bluetooth device and its sound will be heard through the M-1958DJ's speakers.
- Press the
button to pause playback. Press again to resume playback. - Select desired track with
/![]()
- Adjust the volume using the
knob on unit or
/
button on remote control. You can also adjust the volume on the device to which you are paired.
Using a NFC Device
NFC (Near Field Communication) is a technology that enables short-range wireless communication between NFC-enabled devices, such as mobile phones.
- When the unit is ON, press SOURCE button repeatedly to select Bluetooth mode. "
" will show on display and blink rapidly, indicating it is in pairing mode. - Enable NFC and Bluetooth on your Bluetooth device (see the user manual of your device for details), tap the NFC device on the
NFC tag of this unit until you hear an indication voice from this unit. The NFC device is connected to this unit via Bluetooth. - Select and play audio files or music on your NFC device.
- To break the connection, tap the NFC device with the
NFC tag on this unit again.
Note: The operational range between the main unit and a NFC device is approximately 10 meters.

LISTENING TO DISC
- When the unit is ON, press SOURCE button repeatedly to select CD mode. The display will show "
" for a few seconds. - Open the CD door. Insert a disc with label side facing up.
- Close the CD door. (Note: If there is no disc inserted, the display will show "
". - After a few seconds, the total number of tracks will appear on display and playback starts automatically.

USB PLAYBACK
- Connect an USB device to the USB PLAY port on unit.
- Press SOURCE button repeatedly to select USB mode. The display will show "
" for a few seconds and playback will start automatically. - Select desired track with
/
. - Press
button to pause playback. Press again to resume playback. - Adjust the volume using the
knob on unit or
/
button on remote control. - Press
button once to stop the playback. Press
to restart playback.
Notes:
- The total number of MP3 files on the USB device should not exceed 999.
- The device may not contain more than 99 directories.
- The reading time takes about a few seconds or more depending on the amount of MP3 files and folders on USB device.
- Do not put anything other than a USB device to the port of this unit. Other objects may damage the USB mechanism.
- There are many USB devices in the market. We cannot guarantee to support all different models. Please try another USB device if your device is not supported.
- If the track number is more than 999, the unit will show "999" on the display.
PLAY MODES (CD/MP3)
Repeat playback
Press
button on unit or press REP. on remote control repeatedly to select a play mode. Repeat indicator
will light up.
- Repeat One: display shows "
" for 2 seconds. - Repeat Folder (MP3 only): display shows "
" for 2 seconds - Repeat All: display shows "
" for 2 seconds.
To cancel repeat playback, press
button on unit or press REP. on remote control until "
" appears. The repeat indicator
lights off.
Program playback
- In stop mode, press and hold PROG. button on unit or press PROG. on remote control. The display will show "
" (program memory number) for a few seconds and then change to "
" ("
" is the track 01 for CD/ USB). Program indicator
lights up. - Select the desired track with
/
, then press PROG. button on unit or remote control to confirm. - Repeat above steps to program up to 32 tracks for CD and 99 tracks for MP3.
- Press
to start program playback. - Press
button once to stop the program playback. Press
again to cancel this function. The program indicator
lights off.
Select a folder (mp3 only)
- Press
on unit or press
on remote control to select the first track of next folder of your current disc or USB. - Presse
on remote control to select the first track of previous folder of your current disc or USB.
By number buttons +10, 0-9
Use the number buttons to input the track number, and it will start playback from the selected track automatically.
If you want to input the track number bigger than 9, use the +10, 0-9 button.
Example 1, to select the 10th track, firstly press 1 then press 0
Example 2, to select the 14th track, firstly press 4 then press +10 (4+10=14)
Example 3, to select the 25th track, firstly press 5 then press twice +10 (5+10+10=25)
CONNECTING AUXILIARY SOURCE
- Connect your auxiliary source (e.g. mp3 player) to the AUX IN jack on the top of unit (cable included).
- Press SOURCE button repeatedly to select AUX mode. The display will show "
" - Start playback from your auxiliary source.
- Adjust the volume to desired level.
- To stop playback, disconnect your auxiliary source from the AUX IN jack.
STEREO PAIRING
This function makes it possible for you to get stereo surround sound quality. It requires two Bluetooth speakers M-1958 DJ to realize the real Bluetooth radio channel wireless separation, therefore, you've got to purchase two M-1958 DJ.
Tips: it is suggested that the distance between the main speaker and secondary speaker is within 4 meters.

Strictly follow the steps below to ensure the stereo pairing function works properly.
- Turn on the two Bluetooth speakers M-1958 DJ. Press SOURCE button repeatedly to select Bluetooth mode for both speakers.
- When both speakers are in pairing mode, press and hold
button on one Bluetooth speaker which will become the main speaker (left channel) until you hear the indication voice "Searching", then it will search and connect to the secondary speaker (right channel). They will recognize the left and right channel automatically. You will hear the indication voice "Left Channel" and "Right Channel" at the same time when the two speakers are connected successfully. And the secondary speaker will display "
" (slave). - Press SOURCE button repeatedly on main speaker to select the desired main source: FM, CD, USB, Bluetooth or AUX. If Bluetooth mode is selected, enable your Bluetooth device and select "MUSE M-1958DJ" from the device list. If the unit is paired properly, the Bluetooth indicator of main speaker "
" will remain ON. (For specific operations of each mode, refer to the previous sections.) - Press
button on either speaker to pause playback. Press again to resume playback. - P ress and hold
button on either speaker to disconnect the stereo pairing. The unit will continue playback in main speaker.
The INPUT jack of unit can be compatible with microphone set and guitar.
Guitar playback
- Press
button to turn on the unit. - Plug your electronic guitar into the INPUT jack on the unit.
- Start to play your guitar and the sound will be output from the unit.
- Adjust the guitar volume to desired level by rotating
knob. - To stop playback, disconnect your guitar from the INPUT jack.
Singing through the microphone
Sing along with the music by plugging in the microphone into the INPUT jack on the unit.
Notes:
* Rotate the
knob directly to adjust the mic volume as desired.
* Press
buttons repeatedly to adjust the reverb effect as desired.
* If the microphone is placed near the loudspeaker, a howling effect (acoustic feedback) may occur. If this happens, place microphone away from the loudspeaker.

Tapping or dropping the microphone can permanently damage your microphone. Resist the urge to swing the microphone around by the cord.
Voice changeable function
This unit can transform your voice to other sound effects.
- Plug the microphone into INPUT jacks.
- Press VOICE button repeatedly to select your desired voice effects: monster voice, woman voice, man voice, robot voice, standard voice.
- The voice will change when you sing through the microphone.
- Rotate the
knob directly to adjust the mic volume as desired. Note: if you want to sing without any voice effect, select "standard voice".
Voice removal function
Press and hold VOICE button to turn on/ off the voice removal function.
Note: The voice removal effect will vary accordingly to different audio sources.
USING THE STROBE / DISCO / COLOR LIGHT
Strobe light/ Disco light
When the unit is on, press STROBE button repeatedly to turn on/ off strobe light and disco light.

Do not look directly at the light- emitting part when the strobe light and disco light are turned on.
Color light
When the unit is on, press
button repeatedly to turn on/ off the color light and change the color light effect.
SLEEP FUNCTION
In sleep mode, the unit will turn off automatically after a specified time.
You can select duration in minutes before the unit turns off automatically.
- Press SLEEP on remote control repeatedly to select 90-60-45-30-15-10 or 5 minutes of listening. The sleep indicator
will be displayed. - To cancel the sleep function, repeatedly press SLEEP button until "
" is displayed. The sleep indicator
lights off.
Note: Sleep time can only be set when the unit is turned ON.
DIMMER
When the unit is on, press DIM. button on remote control to select the brightness of the screen: high, low or off.
USB CHARGING
This unit is equipped with a built-in USB charging port (Output: 5V
1A) for recharging your mobile device (e.g. Smartphone, tablet, etc.)
Simply plug the USB charging cable (not included) into the USB charging port and connect it to your mobile device.

TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service:
No Power
- Make sure unit is connected to AC power.
- Make sure the battery is recharged.
No Sound – General
- External device's volume is set to minimum; raise volume.
- The M-1958 DJ's volume is set to minimum; raise volume.
The Bluetooth device cannot pair or connect with the unit.
- You have not activated the Bluetooth function of your device. Refer to the user manual of your device to activate Bluetooth function.
- The unit is not in pairing mode. Press and hold the
button until the Bluetooth indicator blinks fast. - The unit is already connected with another Bluetooth device; disconnect that device and then try again.
CD MAINTENANCE
Cleaning

Disconnect the unit from the mains supply before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry, clean cloth. Regularly dust the vents at the back or sides.
- Using solvents, abrasive or alcohol-based products risks damaging the appliance.
- If an object or liquid enters inside the appliance, unplug it immediately and have it checked by an authorized engineer.
Notes on disc
- Do not use irregular shape CDs (example: heart-shaped, octagonal ones). It may result in malfunctions.
- Do not place more than one disc in the disc compartment.
- Do not try to open the disc compartment during playing.
- Do not touch the lens. Doing so may cause malfunction.
- If there is a scratch, dirt or fingerprints on the disc, it may cause tracking error. Before playing, clean the disc with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc from the center out. Don't store discs in places with high temperatures or high humidity, they can become warped. After playing, store the disc in its case.

- Before transporting the unit, remove the disc from the disc compartment.
