3. Mini Port Installation (For USB Interface)

3.1 Preparation

1. Make sure that the operating system is installed correctly.
2. In case of the SCSI connection, confirm that the SCSI adapter is connected
to the computer mainframe and operating correctly.
In case of the USB connection, confirm that the USB port is installed in the
computer.
3. Confirm that the hard disk that is the installation destination has enough free
space.
4. Turn off the personal computer.
Note: This driver must be installed by taking two steps in the following sequence.
1. Installation of Mini Driver (Section 3.2)
2. Installation of Data Source (Section 3.3)
Be sure to install in this sequence. If either of these two installations is not
completed, the scanner does not operate correctly.
There are two methods for installation of the Mini driver; "Installing for the first
time" and "Updating the driver".
When connecting the scanner to the PC for the first time.
Follow the procedure given in the section 3.2.1 to 4 and perform "Installing for the
first time"
When updating the version of the scanner driver in use.
Follow the procedure given in the section 3.2.5 to 8 and perform "Updating the
driver"

<For Windows
Once a scanner is installed to Windows
Panel]-[Scanner and Camera] regardless of with or without connection. When
unconnected scanner is chosen by mistake, it may cause error. (This error dose
not happen when the scanner is selected correctly.)
To prevent errors, please delete disused scanner information from [Control
Panel]-[Scanner and Camera] in following cases, before install the driver.
(1) Options, such as IPC board or JPEG board, are added to the scanner which
is already connected to PC.
