Firmware Upgrade

Download the firmware from IOGEAR.com, https://www.iogear.com/support/dm/driver/GCS1808, and save the
file to the computer (not part of the KVM connection) you will be upgrading the GCS1808 from. Unzip the file.
1. Disconnect all computers from the GCS1808/GCS1716
2. Connect the GCS1808/GCS1716 to a power source
3. Connect a standard 104 key USB wired keyboard
and a standard VGA monitor to the GCS1808/
GCS1716 using the included console cable
4. Connect the included firmware cable to the front
of the GCS1808/GCS1716. Leave the switch
on the front of the KVM in normal
(default position) mode
5. Connect the serial end of the firmware cable to
the computer that will be used for the firmware
upgrade. (If the computer does not have a built in
COM port a USB to serial adapter may be used)
6. Bring up OSD (On-Screen Display) on the
GCS1808/GCS1716
7. Once OSD appears, press Enter twice to
bypass Admin login (default password is blank)
8. Select F4 (Admin Log in)
9. Scroll down to find "Firmware Upgrade" and
click Enter
10. Make sure to check the correct serial number on
top and firmware version below before upgrading
11. Select Yes to start upgrade
12. Execute the file from your computer to start the
firmware upgrade process. DO NOT INTERRUPT
power or disconnect the GCS1808/GCS1716
during this process. When the upgrade process is
complete, the OSD will show the ADMIN login
screen. Verify the updated firmware version
