4.1.1 Operation of the induction hotplate
The hob is fitted with induction hotplates. Heat is generated directly at the bottom of the dish, without
any losses through the ceramic glass surface. Energy consumption is lower than that of conventional
heaters, which operate on the radiation principle.
The ceramic glass hotplate is not heated directly, but only by return heat transmitted by the dish.
The induction hotplate generates heat from the induction coil (shaped like a spiral), installed underneath
the ceramic glass surface. The coil creates a magnetic field at the bottom of the dish, which in turn
creates whirling flows of current that heat up.
WARNING: In case sugar or other heavily sweetened substance is spilled on the hot
ceramic glass hotplate, wipe it up immediately and carefully remove the sugar with a
scraper while the hotplate is still warm. This prevents possible damage to the ceramic
glass surface.
WARNING: Switch off the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning it.
After the hob has sufficiently cooled down, it is possible to remove limescale, water marks
and grease splashes with a damp cloth and a little detergent. After cleaning, dry the hob
with a soft cloth.
